This Cinco de Mayo, skip the usual list of boring party suggestions in favor of one that’s guaranteed to make any Cinco de Mayo fiesta a little more, eh, festive. Proceed with caution.

Acapulco Gold

1. Mexican Cannabis

Mexico’s hot climate has given birth to some very heady sativa strains, two of which you’ll find below.

Acapulco Gold

This gold and orange colored sativa is said to have originated in Acapulco, Mexico, and offers up a sweet and fruity flavor that’s nicely balanced with some earthy, spicy notes. The effects are a high-energy cerebral buzz that should keep you celebrating your favorite Mexican festivities well into the night.

Mexican Sativa

World-renowned cannabis breeders Sensi Seeds created Mexican Sativa by crossing an Oaxaca-born sativa strain with a Pakistani indica and the African sativa Durban Poison. The result is a rather uplifting strain that offers up a fresh aroma of sandalwood and pine to perfectly compliment your favorite margarita. Just be sure not to have too many of them as this particular strain is rather strong to the punch.

Dos Piña

2. The Hemponair’s Original Dos Piña Cocktail & Space Queen

Last summer we brought you a fresh and citrusy tequila-based cocktail pairing that consisted of our original cocktail, the Dos Piña, perfectly paired with the citrusy, earthy flavor profile of Space Queen cannabis. If you happen to have the strain on hand, these two together are sure to make for one helluva of a Mexican-fueled fiesta. If not, perhaps just go with the Dos Piña cocktail and get creative with your own cannabis pairing.

Snail Mexican Skull Rolling Paper

3. Snail Mexican Skull Rolling Paper

These rolling papers might not be made in Mexico, but they do feature decorated symbols and designs of Mexican culture on every pack.

Luca Libre Mexican Marijuana Mask

4. Lucha Libre Mexican Wrestling Marijuana Leaf Mask

Sure, it’s ain’t exactly subtle, but if you’re looking to stand out at your local Cinco de Mayo fiesta, you can’t really do better than a Lucha Libre Mexican mask that doubles as a Marijuana leaf. If you can’t get the mask in time, you can easily get creative and make your own. Just make sure you don’t smoke it by the end of the night.

Guacamole

5. Ganja Guac

Give your usual guacamole a little extra kick with some heady ganja that’ll have everybody smiling in no time.

Ingredients:

  • 3 peeled and pitted avocados
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 roma plum tomatoes, diced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
  • ½ cup diced onions
  • ½ cup THC oil

Add the avocados, lime juice, salt, and THC oil into medium sized bowl and mash. Mix in the onions, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic., then stir in the cayenne pepper. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour.

How to Make Cannabis Oil

Add 6 cups of olive or canola oil into a heavy saucepan or boiler and slowly heat on low for roughly 5 minutes. Once you begin to smell the oil’s aroma, add a little bit of the cannabis to the oil and stir until the cannabis is fully coated with oil. Continue to add more cannabis until all the cannabis is fully mixed into the oil. Simmer on low heat for roughly 45 minutes while continuing to occasionally stir on and off.

Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to cool, then use a metal strainer to strain the oil from the cannabis, pressing the cannabis with a spoon to ensure all the THC-infused oil comes out. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
