We’ve come a long way from the clunky, desktop vaporizers of years past. Not only has technology improved, but thanks to growing legalization spreading across the nation, the knowledge and expertise being applied to the space has greatly improved as well.

From former Apple designers (the Firefly) and NASA engineers (the Herbalizer) to film directors, MBAs, and even PhDs (the Evoke), talent from all industries and walks of life have gravitated toward the space, resulting in a bunch of super-premium, high-quality vaporizers entering the marketplace. And the Evoke is the latest one to arrive to the party.

Founded by tech entrepreneur Neeraj Bhardwaj and Cambridge physics PhD Andrew Bleloch, the Evoke vaporizer is the first vaporizer to use induction technology, which, unlike traditional vaporizers, forgoes the traditional “wick and coil” system in favor of magnetic coils that generate a magnetic field to heat materials (dry leaf, oils, and concentrates) evenly throughout, thereby producing a quicker, smoother and, dare we say, “healthier” vapor.

Pretty smart, to the say the least. And speaking of smarts, the Evoke is also smart-chip enabled, which means you can control it via bluetooth on your mobile device, allowing you to adjust heat settings, monitor battery life, and track dosage all from your smartphone.

But the Evoke doesn’t just function like a device from the future. It looks like one too. Drawing inspiration from classically designed wooden pipes both old and new, the Evoke is crafted from African Sapele wood and aluminum, creating a device that looks like a cross between an alien spaceship and your grand-dad’s favorite wooden pipe. The result is a stunning piece of hardware that looks just as good resting on your desk as it does in your palm.

Unfortunately, the Evoke isn’t available just yet, but after a successful Indiegogo campaign, you can now reserve yours on their website for 25% of the $399 retail price. Expensive, sure. But that’s the cost of vaping in style.
