Say goodbye to your skinny jeans of yore and grab yourself a pair of Levi’s 501 CTs. The CT stands for “customized” and “tapered,” and for good reason‚ as these iconic jeans that have been around longer than most have been given new life with a slimmer, more modern tapered leg and a lowered rise that now sits just below the waist.

According to Jonathan Cheung, Levi’s SVP of Global Design, “After hemming, tapering the leg of the 501 jeans is the most requested alteration in Levi’s stores and tailor shops around the world, so we decided to do it for you, creating the 501 CT and the perfect custom taper.”

The Levi’s website suggests three ways of rocking them:

1) Down-sized (one to two sizes smaller) for a slimmer, more modern fit.

2) True-to-size for a classic, regular fit, and

3) One to two sizes larger for a more relaxed fit.

We’d suggest going a little larger and looser as the days of skinny jeans ruling the runways are coming to an end, but either way you go, you really can’t go wrong.
