If you’re on here reading this, chances are you do your best keep up with the latest trends and styles, including hair. Yes, you’re probably rocking the same slick-backed 50’s era look every guy walking the streets of New York (and now even Des Moines) has been sporting of late. Shit even my dad even attempted it, and while the high, tight-shaved sides, modern pomp, and requisite side part glued together with a glob of shiny pomade certainly looks quite dapper, it’s a bit over the top, to say the least, and with all pun intended.

Besides, ask most girls what they think of that sort of style and they’ll tell you there’s nothing nastier than sticking your hands through a head full of gooey, slime-like pomade (except maybe sticking them elsewhere…), not to mention that it’s often a pain in the ass to wash out.

Thankfully, times they are a changin’, and this classic haistyle that’s been dominating men’s fashion for the better part of the past decade has, like its accompanying dapper dress style, finally given way to a more casual look and feel. Now that doesn’t mean you can just roll out of bed without giving your hair any attention, but it does mean you can take advantage of a number of products that help you look like you didn’t, albeit with a little more finesse, and Fatboy’s “Perfect” Putty is indeed the perfect product to get the job done.

Designed to give you that all important “just-don’t-give-a-fuck” hairdo, Fatboy’s Perfect Putty offers a smooth and creamy clay-like putty that easily works through your hair without spending hours having to work it yourself. Plus it uses a matte finish to ensure that all-too-shiny hairdo of the past stays just there—in the past. And the best part? Unlike most of those heavy pomades, it won’t take an extra wash or two to get out, which means neither will you when it’s time to meet your lady.

Check out the directions below for how to properly apply to your specific hair type.

For Long Hair: Apply to towel dried hair from roots to ends. Blow dry as desired for a fuller, thicker completely matte finish.

For Short Hair: Apply to dry hair to produce a messy, bed-head type feel or apply to wet hair for a more controlled, defined style.

Application: Take a small amount of Perfect Putty (around the size of a nickel or a dime) and rub well between your hands until you feel some friction and the putty feels smooth, then apply to hair accordingly.
