If marathons, triathlons, tough mudders, and other competitive races just aren’t cutting it, you may want to consider the hottest organized sporting event to hit the scene in recent memory—The 420 Games.

No, we’re not talking about getting high and playing scrabble or any other cliched stoner game you might recall from high school. These 420 Games are billed as athletic events created to “de-stigmatize the millions who use cannabis in a healthy and responsible lifestyle and show that cannabis users are NOT lazy, unmotivated, or ‘stones’.” And by the looks of things, they sure do prove those age-old stereotypes wrong.

Each race typically includes a 4.20-mile run/walk followed by a beer tasting (currently sponsored by Lagunitas) and concert, and while smoking on scene is typically frowned upon, there are usually plenty of edibles to go around.

Unfortunately the races are currently only held in legalized cities such as Denver, Boulder, Seattle, and San Francisco, with this year’s first event taking place July 31st in Seattle. Registration is free for the first 420 sign ups, followed by an early bird special of $30 and a regular, full price ticket at $60. In addition, each participant receives a 420 Games t-shirt, 420 runners bib, beer wristband, and a 420 Games finish line medal to show to all their friends that just because you get high, doesn’t mean you can’t get fit.

Registration for select cities is currently open online at 420games.org.
