Cult Japanese menswear label Visvim recently surprised both guests and fans alike at Paris Fashion Week by re-creating a replica of its Indigo Camping Trading Post that sits above its flagship Tokyo store.

The set-up, which includes a classic vintage trailer parked on a mock campsite, is an ode to Visvim’s classic Americana and Native American influences, which often come to life in the label’s premium denim pieces and traditional methods of tailoring and craftsmanship. Indigo Camping Trailer, or ICT, specifically refers to Visvim’s sole concept store and founder/lead designer Hiroki Nakamura’s experimental playground, with the trailer and campsite serving as a sandbox of sorts that allows Nakamura to play with natural indigo dyes while still using the latest in modern-day manufacturing technologies—and it showed.

The Paris Fashion Week display featured unique Visvim pieces like checkered and logo-printed ICT t-shirts, patchwork denim, and a number of vintage fabrics and accessories discovered by Nakamura, with many of the ICT apparel coming with special tags and lining prints that distinguish them from Visvim’s mainline collection.

While this is the first time Visvim has displayed the Indigo Camping Trading Post exhibit outside of Japan, perhaps it’s not entirely surprising, as the brand has earned quite the reputation over the years for creating immersive product experiences in both its hometown of Tokyo as well as internationally in cities like New York and Paris.
