- Sativa Swizzle (n/a)
- Trainwreck ($269/oz.)
Another summer Friday, another summer cocktail and cannabis pairing. Except this one is less of a pairing and more of a blend, as we’ve decided to just throw the cannabis right on in there for a straight-up cannabis cocktail. And boy is it tasty.
Named the Sativa Swizzle, our latest concoction is a play off a traditional Rum Swizzle, albeit it with a couple of twists. And sprays. Yes, that’s right. A couple of sprays of sativa tincture we created from some heady Trainwreck cannabis. Granted, Trainwreck is a hybrid, but it’s a heavy sativa-dominant hybrid (90/10 split) that packs some powerful sativa effects. And it’s sweet lemon and spicy pine flavor profile goes great with the sweet and citrus flavor of the Sativa Swizzle’s pineapple puree. It also helps add a fragrant lemon-dank aroma to your cocktail sipping experience. That, and an extra THC kick. As Snoop would say, “fo shizzle my nizzle.” Or shall we say, “fo swizzle.”
- 2 oz barrel-aged rum (we like Caña Brava)
- ½ oz ginger liqueur (we like Giffard’s Ginger of the Indies)
- ¼ oz pimento dram (we like St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram)
- ½ oz lime juice
- 1 oz pineapple puree
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
- 2 sprays of sativa tincture
Add above ingredients to shaker and shake it like a polaroid picture. Pour over cracked ice. Garnish with mint sprig.
How to Make Sativa Tincture:
Combine 3 oz of everclear and a ½ gram of cannabis (sativa/sativa-dominant hybrid) in a glass jar and let sit for a day. Shake vigorously and strain into a new jar. Add 2 oz of water and place in a small perfume or spray bottle.
