Widely known for their luxury take on cannabis, LA-based MedMen has been wooing both customers and investors alike with their apple-esque storefronts and sleek, carefully designed products and packaging. But those storefronts and packaging have typically been reserved for outside cannabis brands, not their own. Until now.
Labeled “[statemade],” MedMen’s new in-house line of cannabis products includes flower, pre-rolls, tinctures, and vaporizers all carefully formulated to deliver your desired “state” of well-being. There’s “Joy” that’s “made for happiness” and described as “positively uplifting” with sweet notes of cloves and berry, while “Zen” is “made for enlightenment” with earthy notes of moss and vanilla. Other moods include “Max, “Ebb,” “ZZZ,” and “One,” as well as a dedicated CBD line that’s “made for wellness” and formulated to deliver relief without the psychoactive high of THC.
Even the packaging has been carefully thought of, with many of the products looking more like luxury makeups or fragrances rather than cannabis. In fact, you could easily mistake them as such were it not for the fact they were being sold at a dispensary.
The whole concept is designed to attract those who might be interested in cannabis but are relatively new to the plant and not too familiar with the different types and effects today’s modern-day strains carry. By simplifying the cannabis shopping experience into everyday relatable moods and conditions, MedMen hopes to introduce a whole new audience to the joys and wonders of cannabis. And now that it’s becoming legal across the country, they’re betting big on the investment.
Right now the strains and products are all made at their state-of-the-art cultivation and manufacturing facility near Reno, Nevada, but the company plans to manufacture and sell in all markets where it’s licensed, including California, Arizona, Florida, and yes, even New York, in addition to future markets as they become legal.
