Y-3 x James Harden Capsule Collection ($30-$700)
After giving us a preview of the upcoming Y-3 x James Harden capsule collection at Adidas’ 747 Warehouse St. space in LA over NBA All-Star Weekend, we’re now getting a full look at the collection that’s set to be released April 13th.
Designed by renowned master tailor and Y-3 co-namesake Yohji Yamamoto, the collection features pieces inspired by James Harden’s style, both on the court and off. As such, the collection is dubbed the “King of Flowers” collection after the Botan flower, which is often used in ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement, and symbolizes honor, respect, good fortune, bravery, and nobility—all traits that are clearly meant to represent those of James Harden’s character.
As for the pieces themselves, there are a variety of apparel and footwear items like a bomber jacket, embroidered shirts, a hoddie, a crewneck, cropped pants, a compression tee and tight, and of course a pair of James Harden Y-3 “BYW BBALL” kicks, among others. But beyond the overall design and tailoring, what truly pops is the bright pink Botan flower, which acts as a logo of sorts that contrasts really nicely against the mostly dark colors of black and midnight indigo found throughout most of the collection.
The entire collection is set to drop in limited quantities worldwide beginning April 13th at select online and brick-and-mortar boutiques like Kith, Stashed, and others. You can view some of the pieces from the collection below and check out an official clip making the announcement here.
