Forbidden Fruit ($284/oz.)

STRAIN REVIEW

Like the forbidden fruit from the bible that enticed Adam and Eve to sin, the cannabis version is just as tempting. Whether it’ll lead you to sin as well is a whole other story.

A cross between the citrus-filled Tangie and the deliciously sweet Cherry Pie strain, Forbidden Fruit clearly wears its heritage proudly on its hairs, which are rather wiry looking fellas accented with deep purple hues and surrounded by dark green foliage. The actual buds come pretty dense with a terpene profile that’s even denser, consisting of a perfect blend of Cherry Pie’s musky, sweet cherry undertones topped off with a citrusy, piney overtone compliments of Tangie’s loud citrus flavor—a flavor that’s easily recognizable in Forbidden Fruit, which offers an incredibly smooth, well-balanced taste of tangy lemony goodness combined with just the right amount of sweet berry and pine. The result is a strain whose aroma and flavor are sure to give you a refreshing tropical rise any day of the week. It’s the high itself that will lead to your fall—a rather pleasant one, to be sure.

THE HIGH

Once again, the aptly named Forbidden Fruit lives up to its title, with effects that are just as heavy as the ones from the bible. Sure, they might not lead to the falling of mankind’s perfect universe, but they’ll certainly lead to the falling of yours, albeit in a good way, with a deeply euphoric high that hits hard between the eyes before eventually making its way down to the body. And once it does, you’ll likely be pleasantly couch-locked for the remainder of the trip, making it an ideal strain for evening chills or right before bedtime, when your brain and body could benefit from some deep physical relaxation.

MEDICAL BENEFITS

As this is clearly an indica-dominant strain, Forbidden Fruit works great at easing intense aches and pains, muscle spasms, and stress. It also helps tremendously with insomnia, as you’ll not doubt be drifting off into the clouds after just a couple of hits. As such, it’s important that your mindful to prepare accordingly.
