Rapper turned streetwear fashion king Kanye has once again teamed up with Adidas for a new limited-edition Yeezy release, this time trading in his signature futuristic look in favor of a more classic, retro style with the all new Adidas Yeezy Powerphase.
Reminiscent of the old Reebok Workout Plus sneakers of yore, the Powerphase is an all-white shoe that makes subtle use of the classic Adidas trefoil logo while also nodding to Kanye’s current California residence with a gold-printed “Calabasas” etched onto the outside quarter panels. It’s a clear yet subtle shout-out to a rather interesting personal reference, albeit one that’s sure to garner a lot of fanfare with both the street and bougie following his wares tend to attract.
The sneakers are currently slated for a June 4th release, although getting your hands on them will no doubt be a difficult task. But hey, there’s bound to be the usual wave of Chinese-made knockoffs popping up in no time. Or you can just pony up thousands of dollars on eBay, which is where you’ll likely find them once the real ones sell out.
