Saturdays NYC, the casual clothing brand that initially launched as a stylish surfwear label, has started to venture into more traditional, everyday wares with various tailored pieces for their latest Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

Moving away from their beach vibe surfwear roots, the label has introduced the “Brian” blazer, a modern double-breasted linen suit jacket with horn buttons available in both black and “natural” white, pleated linen shorts and chinos, several light knits, and even a few woven pieces, all of which come in more muted, toned-down colors like tans, creams, blues, and greens that fit in perfectly with the season.

They even went so far as to design several light outerwear pieces, including a double-breasted military-style trench coat, a nylon satin bomber jacket, and a rather unique blazer/windbreaker hybrid of sorts that’s made from military drill cloth and looks great dressed either up with a pair of slacks and a polo or down with chinos and a tee.

And while the new tailored looks certainly move away from Saturday NYC’s more typical surfwear vibe, they still stay close to their casual, laid-back roots by keeping most of the pieces loose and unstructured, a trend we’ve been seeing a lot of lately and one we hope continues.

The entire collection is currently available at Saturday NYC shops, select retailers, and online at saturdaysnyc.com.
