Next to the bong, the one-hitter, or “onie,” is probably one of the most familiar smoking devices out there, and for good reason. Cheap, portable, discreet, and practically idiot-proof, it’s withstood not just the test of time, but also technology, as despite arguably easier methods of consuming springing up in recent years (vapes, pens, etc.), the one-hitter still remains a trusted fan favorite. That being said, it hasn’t really seen a proper update since its first seen the light of day back when your dad and, yes, even your granddad, were smoking it. Until now.
The SilverStick basically takes everything you love about the classic one-hitter and improves on it. The bowl is bigger, the pipe sleeker, and the smoke smoother thanks to an innovative built-in filter. Yes, a filter. A biodegradable cotton one, to be exact, that’s easily replaceable thanks to its innovative design—just unscrew the mouthpiece and the filter slides right on out. And unlike most filters you find in cigarettes and the like, these come unrefined without the use of bleach, chlorine, or any other weird chemicals or additives. Whether we can say the same about your buds is another story.
Each SilverStick comes with a package of 25 filters, a SilverStick end cap to prevent your items (and their stink) from leaking out, and a super-handy stainless steel poker that’s perfect for easy cleaning and unclogging—an unfortunate necessity when it comes to one-hitters.
However, all of the above is just for the actual pipe itself. What really tickles our fancy is the full-on leather kit package that the pipe is available with. SilverStick took their design and innovation a step further by creating a gorgeous vintage leather case to house the SilverStick and all its accompanying accoutrements. Crafted from rich Horween leather and vintage copper studs, the beautiful case is a handsome alternative to your everyday dugout. A nifty slit in the top righthand corner fits the SilverStick’s poker while the rest of the space houses the SilverStick, an airtight storage container, and a lighter. They even etched the icons of each accompanying iitem right into the actual leather itself so you know exactly where to fit them. And should you feel the need to change out the SilverStick’s filter, a cleverly placed pocket on the bottom righthand exterior unbuttons to house several additional ones.
All in all the SilverStick is the innovative one-hitter update we never knew we needed until now. After spending several days with it, you’ll find it really hard to ever go back to the more traditional cigarette, wood, or even glass blown one-hitters of yore. And with the gorgeous leather case that only gets better looking with time, we’re pretty sure that old wooden dugout lying at the bottom of your stash box might just stay there. For good.
