Well the smoke has finally settled from our 4/20 Rooftop Sunset Sesh and the positive vibes and feedback keep pouring in. New York’s first-ever official 4/20 celebration was a huge hit, and with all pun intended.

Partnering with Pistil Point Cannabis, we put together an all-star cast of industry brands and partners for a 4/20 celebration the likes the city’s never seen—and all at one of New York’s premier nightlife and entertainment destinations.

Folks from New York’s fashion, media, entertainment, and cannabis industries converged at the gorgeous Hudson Terrace rooftop for a truly unforgettable night filled with west coast flavors, tasty edibles, and innovative cannabis accessories brought in from all over the country. We’re talking one-of-a-kind tabletop vaporizers by Topstone, 24k gold rolling papers from Shine, innovative “smart” pipes from Genius, a full-on dab bar from Dr. Dabber, and a slew of other wild cannabis-related items that put a smile (and then some) on all attendees faces.

As Topstone’s Will Bosch put it, “The 420 Rooftop Sunset Sesh was the perfect event to showcase our custom-fitted leather Stingray vaporizer. The Sesh was cannabis at its most polished.”

And that wasn’t the only thing polished. We also had a live art exhibit spearheaded by Brooklyn’s own Keli Lucas that included original pieces from her collection as well as several additional pieces brought on by some of her long-time collaborators. “I’m a big supporter of marijuana use with creativity, so I was ecstatic to be part of this year’s 4/20 event celebrating the lifestyle of the movement as well as getting the chance to vibe out with like minded people as I painted,” said Keli. “There was something for everyone—great tunes, art, cheffy edibles…it was pretty awesome.”

Added No Idols Tattoo artist Matt Buck, “The 4/20 Rooftop Sunset Sesh was full of chill vibes. It was cool being able to watch Keli do her thing and have the opportunity to paint with her before the night was over. A fun crowd filled with positive attitude and energy all around.”

Indeed there truly was something for everyone. Whether you were new to cannabis, a long-time supporter, or just an occasional consumer, the 4/20 Rooftop Sunset Sesh was definitely lit. Like, literally.

“I came. I saw. I spilled my terps,” said Viceland’s Bong Appétit producer Jason Pinsky. Yeah, you did, and all over our hands, no less, but hey, we weren’t complaining. And neither were the rest of our VIP’s clamoring for a whiff. Nothing wrong with smelling like a little Snowcaps throughout the evening. Alright, a lot. Damn those terps were strong. And so were those other heady scents permeating through the air.

Yeah, it was a chill friendly vibe all around. As Tim Mattson, founder and director of the New York Cannabis Film Festival, put it—“There were a lot of events happening on 4/20, but the Rooftop Sunset Sesh was hands down the tops. A great chill and atmosphere, a talented live-painting session, several other, eh, sessions, and awesome music spun by a kick-ass DJ—it all made for a night to remember. Can’t wait ‘till next year’s!

And neither can we. In fact, plans are already in the works to continue the momentum we’ve built here in New York and ensure there will be plenty of more exciting things to come for the budding cannabis community here at large in the future. Until then, revel in the pics from the event below and be sure to continue visiting The Hemponair and sign up to our newsletter for all the latest happenings in the New York cannabis and fashion scenes. We’ve got a lot of exciting things in the works, and hope you join us along for the ride.
