Now in its second year, the 4 days of fashion labeled “NY Fashion Week: Men’s” is really starting to gain some steam as bigger labels, brands, and yes, even celebrities, begin to jump on board. And one of those celebrities is rapper/actor Common.

To kick off the Men’s Spring/Summer 2017 festivities, Common teamed up with one of this year’s main event sponsors—Cadillac—for an opening party celebration at their recently built, 12,0000-square-foot venue dubbed the “Cadillac House.” Located in the newly minted Hudson Square at 330 Hudson Street, the place is billed as “a public meeting space where innovators, creators, and the curious can find inspiration—and one another.” And from the looks of things, it definitely seems like the hords of male fashionistas did just that.

Stars such as Nick Cannon (dressed in a Perry Ellis suit with Christian Louboutin slippers, we shit you not), Kellan Lutz, Shaun White, Jerry O’Connell, and others were in attendance as Common, sporting a fire-engine red, military-inspired jacket, walked out on stage and announced the official start of Men’s Fashion Week before treating the crowd to hits like “Resurrection,” “Go,” and even a little freestyling. And we’re just getting started.

Men’s Spring/Summer 2017 NY Fashion Week began yesterday (Monday, 7/11) and continues on through this Thursday, 7/14 at Skylight Clarkson Square and other smaller venues throughout the city. Some of this year’s designers and labels include Ovadia & Sons, Capsule, Deveaux, Tommy Hilfiger, Theory, Michael Kors, Todd Snyder, Hickey Freeman, and Joseph Abboud, just to name a few. You can check out a full list of shows and schedules here.

And if you’re looking to see and/or be seen, you’ll want to throw on some of your finest wares and head down to where the action is in and around Skylight Clarkson Square. Or just get high, read sites like ours, and wait until the collections actually hit the stores (if they ever do).
