Movado watches are known for their clean, minimal design and famed “Museum Dial”—a single dot at the 12 representing the sun at high noon and originally conceived by artist/designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. Since then, the watch has seen hundreds of different designs and colors that all make creative use of the now iconic dial. And this year brings yet another, this time by renowned Swiss modern industrial designer and entrepreneur Yves Béhar.

Named the Movado Edge, the new design reinterprets the original Museum Dial into a three-dimensional dot surrounded by textured linear peaks that form around the dial’s edges and allude to the sun’s rays while also serving as the watch’s markers. All this is beautifully wrapped in an ion-plated stainless steel casing with a K1 sapphire crystal lens. The result is a truly stunning timepiece that manages to put a modern spin on Movado’s classic design without sacrificing the watch’s iconic identity.

The Movado Edge is available now for pre-order and comes in various combinations, colors, and styles, including sandblasted black, gray, metallic silver, or midnight blue dials, stainless steel or black PVD-finished steel casings, and stainless steel link, black leather, or black rubber straps.
