Although the summer’s almost over, you wouldn’t know it by stepping outside. It’s hot out there. Real hot. So we’ve created a summer cocktail and cannabis pairing that’s sure to cool things down. The Cannabis Cooler, as it’s so aptly called, is a refreshing citrus cocktail that takes the floral flavors of gin and the earthy, herb flavor of hops and combines them with the sweet, citrus flavors of Japanese yuzu and lime. The result is a sweet, herbaceous cocktail that goes great with the earthy, piney flavor of Jack Herer cannabis.

Ingredients:

  • 1½ oz American dry gin (we like Greenhook Ginsmiths)
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • ¼ oz of yuzu juice (found at most asian specialty stores)
  • 2 dashes of hop tincture 

Pour above ingredients into shaker over ice and shake, then strain into collins glass over fresh ice and top with a pale ale (we like Evil Twin Sour Bikini). Garnish with lime wheel and dried hop flowers. Pair with Jack Herer cannabis.

How to Make Hop Tincture:

Pour 6 oz of vodka into a bowl, then crumble 2 oz of hop pellets to dust and pour into vodka. Stir for 5 minutes, sit for 10. Strain through cheesecloth into sealable jar or container.
