- The Kyoto Bramble (n/a)
- Blackberry Kush ($330/oz.)
It’s Friday in the summer, and that means it’s time for yet another heady summer cocktail and cannabis pairing. Today’s drink is called the Kyoto Bramble and is a play on the traditional bramble, albeit with brandy in place of gin and a touch of egg white for a frothier, more refreshing texture. A bramble is a blackberry-based cocktail, and this one is no exception. The combination of blackberries with the sweet and spicy flavor of the Laird’s apple brandy are a perfect match with the contrasting flavors of the Kyoto Bramble’s shiso leaves. And of course what better to pair a blackberry-based cocktail with then a blackberry-flavored cannabis? The sweet, berry flavor of Blackberry Kush is a perfect compliment to the sweet, berry flavor of the Kyoto Bramble, and the drink’s rich, frozen, and creamy texture go great with a nice, earthy smoke.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz apple brandy (we like Laird’s Apple Brandy 100 proof)
- ¾ oz simple syrup
- ¾ oz lemon juice
- ¾ oz egg white
- 3 blackberries
- 3 shiso leaves
Muddle blackberries and shiso leaves in cocktail shaker, then add remaining ingredients and shake hard without ice for 1 minute. Add 3 cubes of ice and shake hard again until cold, then double strain into coupe glass. Garnish with shiso leaf and blackberry. Pair with Blackberry Kush cannabis.
