This week’s summer Friday cocktail and cannabis pairing combines the rich, sweet flavor of a whiskey-based cocktail with the lemon and pine flavor of Napoleon OG cannabis.
Called The Old World, our original cocktail mixes ingredients from around the world to create a truly sweet and zesty summer drink. The rich, flavorful WhistlePig 12 Year Old World is used as the base and sweetened with the extremely floral and herbal Amaro Montenegro. The floral sweetness is then spiced up with hints of oak and curry from the Pierre Ferrand Sélection des Anges. All these sweet and spicy flavors go great with the zesty lemon pine flavor of the Napoleon OG, which is further complimented by the Old World’s lemon peel garnish that helps bring the pairing together. Sweet and zesty, the Old World coupled with Napoleon OG makes for a perfectly refreshing summertime treat to be enjoyed at the beach, the pool, or just a lazy backyard barbecue.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz rye whiskey (we like WhistlePig 12 Year Old Word)
- 1 oz cognac (we like Pierre Ferrand Sélection des Anges)
- 1 oz amaro liqueur (we like Amaro Montenegro)
- 2 dashes lemon bitters (we like Scrappy’s Black Lemon Bitters)
Pour above ingredients over ice in mixing glass and stir, then pour in drinking glass over fresh ice. Garnish with lemon peel. Pair with Napoleon OG cannabis.
