Continuing with the American themes presented in his “COLLECTION 1” show this past summer, Alexander Wang recently followed up that presentation with an unveiling of “COLLECTION 2” at Brooklyn’s former Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower.

While “COLLECTION 1” focused on Wang’s immigrant and Chinese-American roots, “COLLECTION 2” is a “celebration of the American hustle,” Wang told Vogue. A hustle that can be seen in various shapes, cuts, and colors all espousing the “work hard, play hard” attitude of the American urbanite.

There were leopard-printed faux fur pieces, leather vests, oversized belt buckles, and oversized blazers and coats, some of which came emblazoned with graffiti-like smiley faces nodding to American street art. There were also several slightly oversized suits, most of which came two-buttoned with wider shoulders and even wider notch lapels coupled with slightly more room in the sleeves and trousers.

As for footwear, comfortable running kicks and shiny black patent leather loafers were paired with most of the looks, including several pairings with loose leather pants and spacious pleated trousers. And should you think the hustler theme was just a brief nod, there was enough gold bling to light up the city. And then some.

You can check out some of that bling as well as a few of the highlights from the show below and the entire collection here.
